RED CREST, CALIFORNIA

We spent the night in Red Crest, California at an RV park nestled in the giant redwoods,  When you stepped out of the door of the RV, you ran smack into a redwood. rc1.jpg (8267 bytes) rc2.jpg (7050 bytes)

Behind the RV park we climbed a trail to the universal tourist attraction, the old "Walk-Thru Tree" rc4.jpg (4811 bytes) rc5.jpg (5837 bytes) rc6.jpg (3427 bytes)
On an explore trip in the afternoon, the eight year old discovered a magic place along a rock strewn river with high bluffs, and the mother lode of agate rocks.  We collected several bags of rocks and deposited them in the poor old overloaded RV.  We caught an interesting silhouette against a setting sun that finally halted our jubilant rock hunting exploits.

On our way out of town the next morning, while the four year old went to the post office, Paul wandered through an interesting antique shop.   The unique flower arrangements in an old truck and a bicycle basket was worthy of a couple of pictures.  The "arranger" stands in the door of her shop.

... And it was back to the redwoods...  Note the ghostly apparition in the middle picture!

rc17.jpg (7261 bytes) We passed through a small town and were greeted by a "drive-through-the-tree" sign and we just had to stop.  It was not a "drive-an-RV-through-the-tree" tree, so we had to settle for a walk-through-the-tree. rc18.jpg (4374 bytes) rc19.jpg (6515 bytes)
