MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK, COLORADO |

In our quest for rocks from across the country to place in our Rock Map back at the Farm, we stopped for the night at the A & A RV Park Campground which was near the Mesa Verde National Park. |

We participated in an unusual event at the RV park. In late afternoon, all who wished to join hopped into a trailer hooked behind an antique 1942 tractor and proceeded down a dirt road behind the RV park on a fossil hunt. After some hard digging, we turned up a few small fossils. |
| Later, when we described our Rock Map project, one of the owners of the RV park was kind enough to donate a magnificent fossil he had found earlier at the digging site. This specimen is now proudly displayed at the Farm in the Rock Map. |
|
While in the Mesa Verde area, we also found some other interesting assorted rock gems. |
