DOWNTOWN UTICA

ORIGINAL SITE OF UTICA NORMAL AND INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE
Founded in 1903 by Dr William H Holtzclaw.  He took his native Alabama upbringing, his Tuskegee Institute training, the blessed tutelage of Booker T Washington, and coupled them with his determination ... $2 and a dream... to forge a legacy for all citizens of Utica Campus of Hinds Community College, located five miles south of this site off Highway 18 west on 1600 acres of pastoral setting, a realization of Holtzclaw's dream.
