THIS BELL
Was bought and installed in the original church building erected in 1870, and was rung each lord's day morning form more than a half-century with an invitation to worship God.  After fifty years of silence, which began with moving into the present sanctuary in 1926, the remounted bell again sounded forth its joyous tones as part of an appropriate ceremonial service held on the Lord's day, February 29, 1976, the Bicentennial Year.

ROBERT JOHNSON
Born Hazlehurst, Mississippi, May 8, 1911, Copiah County.  Robert Johnson's recording career left an enormous legacy to American music.  The body of his work is considered to be the most powerful of its kind.  His music struck a chord that continues to resonate.  His blues addresses generations he never knew and made poetry of his vision and fears.  A haunting and lyrical portrait of the human spirit.  King of the Delta Blues singers.
