Beverly Beach State Park had almost 400 RV spaces that were jammed together... and all full... with three point two noisy kids per each space. As soon as we were hooked up, Paul escaped on an exploration tour, while the four year old was being traumatized by the crowds and noise. |
| I drove far into interior of Oregon from the coast and viewed close hand a lot of trees and the rain forest they reside in. A lack of rain is creating some problems even in the lush surroundings. I ran into much "clear-cur" forest which I have a continual problem with, and an 1812 lighthouse. |

Near the lighthouse, I climbed down a rock lava flow that reached the ocean, and sat for about an hour watching and listening to the wave action in a rock channel. I also caught pictures of a colorful sunset over the Pacific Ocean. |

| I rounded out the afternoon with a couple of pictures of small tidal pools where salt and algae had accumulated from the continuous wave action. While the sun was setting in the west, the moon was rising in the east. |

| The four year old survived the kids and crowds and we were both glad to escape the park the next morning. Early in our travels this morning, we found a wise old tree at a scenic vista and photographed our shadows waving at us. |
| The Pacific coast provides an endless string of picture taking opportunities. We did our share but couldn't begin to capture the overwhelming beauty of the shoreline. |
