The next morning, we crossed the river and back to Oregon to explore some of the most scenic areas of the Columbia River Gorge.  Our first stop was at the Bonnieville Dam. wpe903.jpg (8655 bytes) wpe906.jpg (4312 bytes) wpe909.jpg (4170 bytes)
wpe902.jpg (4979 bytes) wpe8F7.jpg (7837 bytes) An interesting feature of the dam is the fish ladder that lets the spawning fish up river and the hatched fish back down river toward the ocean.  We caught a picture of some of the salmon in the ladder... in case you wonder about the end picture.

As we traveled down stream from the dam, we caught a few shots of Washington looking across the river wpe8ED.jpg (8876 bytes) wpe8F4.jpg (7196 bytes)

THE BREATHTAKING WATER FALLS OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE

In the heart of the gorge we came face to face with multiple waterfalls in about an eight mile stretch.  Some of the falls required a short hike, many times up hills.  The four year old made it to all the falls... with a little energy to spare.

Crown Point was the last stop in the Gorge before heading back to good ole Peach Beach.  The expansive view is almost breath-taking and we paused a few moments to savor. wpe94C.jpg (6538 bytes) wpe94A.jpg (5546 bytes) wpe94B.jpg (4973 bytes)
