To the four year old's utter delight, we found ripe huckleberries along the side of the road and we stopped a couple of times to indulge in natures bounty. |

| We finally arrived at the parking lot of an old historic lodge that provided food and shelter for a year around snow ski area. It was a steep climb at about 8,000 feet of elevation to the lodge, and the four year old was puffing and panting. We still had not touched snow during our whole trip, and the eight year old was determined to bag some. With bag in hand, he traversed some real steep grade for the final push to the snow summit. |

| The trip back down provided a good view of the lodge, and a multitude of wild flowers splashed across the mountain. |

| At the top of his climb, Paul collected two snow balls in a zip lock bag. Before we began the long journey back to the "turtle shell" at Peach Beach, we paused for a snow ball fight in the parking lot. |
