Home of Mrs Jesse Benton, widow of Jesse Benton who left Nashville after a feud with Andrew Jackson. Built in the 1840's, restored in the 1920's by Colonel Granville Sevier. Two log cabins east of the home reputed to have been built by the French for trade with the Chickasaw and Choctaw Indians, may be the oldest structures in Metropolitan Nashville. Placed on National Register October 1, 1974. |
