HISTORY of BORDEAUX AREA

(1724 - 1822) Frederick Stump, an early settler in the Fort Nashboro area came from Pennsylvania by way of Georgia. He was a Revolutionary War soldier and noted Indian fighter. He owned a large plantation along White's Creek where he operated a mill and inn and rented land to other settlers. This log house is said to have been his home and inn.

Turnpike chartered 1848 Was a road from Nashville to Ashland City and Sycamore Mills Richard Hyde’s ferry crossed the Cumberland River 2.6 miles southeast Ferry crossing located where railroad bridge is now Davidson County paid $10,000 for its section of road, 1901 Cheatham County freed its portion from tolls, 1916 Toll gate #2 located at site of sign	Built in Scottsville by Patrons of Husbandry 1851 Used by a number of churches for fifty years
