Frank C Mars built home 1932
Originally consisted of 2,700 acres
38 barns and numerous houses were built on property
The main home has 21 bedrooms and 12 baths
Open for tours, weddings, meetings, and guest accommodations
Luncheons, dinners, weddings, and other events by appointment
Has the largest dining table in Tennessee

During its prime was one of the top five farms in the nation

HISTORICAL
Pulaski A two acre plot on Richland Creek was chosen for a county seat
Formed in 1809
Incorporated 1810
Was birthplace of the Ku Klux Klan
Also served as headquarters of the Freedman's Bureau that assisted freed slaves
A disastrous fire burned many buildings on Square, 1887
Laws were passed that all business houses around square must be brick or stone
The Radio Center Building and the row of one story offices on each side pre-date the Civil War
Work was begun on the Opera House 1867
Building burned before completion
The present Opera House building completed 1868
It held last performance in the 1930’s

First Courthouse Historic Sign

First courthouse, a rough log cabin
Located near the present Richland Creek bridge
Built in Kirk’s Settlement near sign
Court held in building from February 1810 until December 1811
Courthouse #2 completed by August 1811
A log courthouse covered with boards
Court was held in building for about two years
Courthouse #2 burned
Courthouse #3 was a substantial two-story brick building
Records are unsure as to whether this courthouse burned or was torn down
Courthouse #3 burned due to a defective flue, 1856
Courthouse #4 completed 1859
The cost was $27,000
During Civil War, Federal threatened to burn courthouse
A ransom of $3,000 was paid by Thomas Martin, founder of Martin College
Courthouse #4 was spared destruction
The courthouse clock and bell was donated by Martin’s estate, 1880
Courthouse #4 burned on April 20, 1907
The fifth and present courthouse was erected in 1909
Its cost was $130,729.00
The Neoclassical building marked by tall Corinthian columns
Inside a balcony encircles the third floor
16 caryatids (female faces) hold up the arched vault of the rotunda with stained glass skylight
