Event raises funds for Shady Valley Elementary School

City started out as Shoun's Crossroads
Post Office there in 1827 before Johnson County was established
Name changed to Shouns in 1905
Post Office closed in Shoun's in 1973 and service received through Mountain City
If interested in town of Shoun's because of surname Shoun, book titled "History of Johnson County 1986",  has 10 pages of information on the Shoun family
