Renfro, Rose, Tanner, Holloway, Baker Killed by Indians near Spencer Rock, 1793 Received land grant from North Carolina for 640 acres, 1796 Acquired Clark's land

Camped east of town 1806
When he died, wife moved to Ozone
She opened Fall Creek Inn at Ozone
Married Robert Burke, 1817
Burke bought Dawson's property to build an inn
Built Crab Orchard Inn, 1827
Was Robert Burke's step son
Took over Crab Orchard Inn
Built grist and sawmill on Stony Branch, Antioch Rd
Became doctor in community
Started Haley's Grove School
Organized Haley's Grove Methodist Church
Bought Crab Orchard Inn after Civil War
Became first postmaster
After his death, Wheeler's widow married W C Renfro
After their deaths, Inn was abandoned Crab Orchard  Inn torn down in 1933

Needs work to make into a great bicycle/people trail
A great asset to attract tourists to area
Trail users are upper income people who spend money when they travel
Would make a great cause for bicycle enthusiasts in area
City and county governments should back trail upgrades
