JEROME, ARIZONA |

| We are at the repair place
and are waiting. It should take about an hour. The people at Cottonwood RV
Repair were friendly and their workmanship was exceptional. After the
repair we go to Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Today, being the weekend,
there are no electric hookups available but since the RV has a generator we
choose to stay here anyway. We tour the town of Jerome, nestled in the side of a mountain. It is an historic copper mining town. People have built homes where the sides of the mountain have been dug out by the old copper mines. The homes are very attractive. Someone purchased the town and old mine sites back in the sixties when it was deserted and rebuilt it. |

And of course... when we saw some old mine tailings... we had to bag a few rocks. |

| We take a tour of the old Ghost Town. The old bordello still stands. There is a mannequin on the second floor balcony dressed with her dance hall clothes on. There are many old trucks and equipment from the past parked around. A mule walks freely down the middle of the dirt road and there was an old dental office and equipment (lots and lots of antiques). |
| To follow is a composite of pictures of the ghost town at Jerome. | All pictures can be enlarged by clicking your mouse on them. |

| And we leave Ghost Town with this parting shot... guess who in the pictures are the Jack Asses? |

| We come back to the RV and rest awhile. The walker stalker catches me later and I put my mile in. The park is on a hill and we can see the night lights of the city. It is very pretty. The moon and the stars silently cover us with their splendor. |
