| Our next night on the road was spent at Ely, Nevada. On the way we encountered our first serious rains in several weeks. It is interesting how you can see rain in the west over such a wide scale around you. |

After the rain.... the sky fell... and just laid on top of the mountain. |

The next morning, we stormed Garnet Hill, expecting to fill the Tracker with gem quality garnets. The only problem was that we didn't know what a garnet "in-the-rough" looked like. We searched through acres of plain white rocks without even a hint of a garnet. All we kept for our efforts was more outstanding Nevada scenery from atop Garnet Hill showing the extensive mining taking place in the area. |

| The next morning we loaded us... and the kids into the RV on our way out of Nevada and to more adventures in Utah. |  |
