| We had originally planned to go interstate from Reno to Salt Lake City, but were intrigued by an alternate route that carried us south on Highway 50... The Loneliest Road in America. We set our sights on a short hop to Fernley, Nevada, as our resting place for the night. We were greeted in Fernley with our first rain in several weeks, a rainbow that seemed to last an eternity, followed by a memorable sunset. |
| Wonderstone was mentioned in our rock books as a desirable collectible from an area near Fallon, Nevada... a mere stone's throw from Fernley, so we headed east again the next morning. The wonderstone lived up to its billing as a multi colored and banded agate. We found them at many locations including Green Mountain where we took a couple of pictures. |
