ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA VISITED... 5-17-99 |
| We leave for Asheville, North Carolina around 6:00 PM. It has been a hard day so we take our time. We stop and cat nap along the way. We arrive at a KOA Kampground Tuesday morning. It has a creek and a lake. Sir Knight picks a great camping spot on the lake. |

There are Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, and one white domestic duck that has heard the call of the wild. There are also baby ducks and geese. The Canadian geese mate for life and when they swim, the father leads the babies and they stay between while the mom brings up the rear. The Mallard mom rears the ducklings alone. |

After looking at the rocks by the creek we take a drive around the area then eat lunch at a barbecue restaurant. When we return to the campground Sir Knight stops at the store and buys some worms so we can fish. And again the eight year old catches the first and only fish. |
| The day ends peacefully with a close look at resin from a pine tree... and the droning drops of rain on the smooth surface of the lake. |
